“Non dobbiamo essere nè eccessivamente pessimisti, né eccessivamente ottimisti. Solo realisti”. Esordisce cosi il Sindaco di Bagnara Calabra, Dott.Cesare Zappia, negli studi di RadioBagnaraWeb. Dopo le dichiarazioni rilasciate nel pomeriggio in esclusiva, subito dopo aver diramato l’allerta meteo che ha investito Bagnara e non solo, il primo cittadino è intervenuto al Friday Night Show, questa volta non per affrontare temi politici, ma in veste di rappresentante della Protezione Civile sul territorio.
“La situazione è attualmente sotto controllo e non è il caso di spaventare, tantomeno di amplificare il problema. Stiamo monitorando con numerosi uomini la stabilità del nostro territorio e la possibilità di eventuali danni”. Chiaro il riferimento al Dipartimento della Protezione Civile rappresentata da Antonello Imbesi della MAOXSEDDD Onlus e responsabile del movimento Garibaldini del Capitano Ultimo, che sarebbe dovuto essere altresì ospite della trasmissione, ma a causa dell’allerta meteo scattata nel pomeriggio si è visto costretto a disdire l’invito per essere presente sul campo alle operazioni di monitoraggio.
E proprio Imbesi, tramite i canali di comunicazione della web radio, ha fatto pervenire costantemente aggiornamenti tranquillizzanti relativi alla situazione ambientale e climatologica, dichiarando come al momento sia “tutto sotto controllo”.
Il primo cittadino di Bagnara non ha mancato di sottolineare come la propria amministrazione stia facendo di tutto per mettere in sicurezza il territorio, considerando la natura del territorio bagnarese e lo stato dei luoghi: “Tramite un’equipe di tecnici stiamo stilando un piano di protezione civile più efficace di quello attualmente in vigore” ha affermato ai microfoni di Pierfrancesco Zoccali e Maria Carmela Tripodi “Bagnara si trova tra due potenziali fuochi: il mare e le montagne. Le previsioni dell’Arpacal hanno individuato fenomeni di carattere temporalesco di livello 2 in arrivo su tutta la Calabria tirrenica e ionica, nonché sul crotonese e sulla Sicilia orientale, e parlano di un potenziale uragano di I° livello che dovrebbe abbattersi nelle prossime ore (nell’arco di tempo compreso tra le 8.00 del mattino di sabato 30 novembre e le 20.00 di domenica 1 dicembre, n.d.r.), con forti venti e piogge torrenziali. Se siamo preparati ad affrontare tutto questo? Indubbiamente, abbiamo già attivato il C.O.C. (Centro Operativo Comunale, n.d.r.), la Protezione Civile, i Vigili Urbani, e il Comando dei Carabinieri di Bagnara Calabra per far fronte a qualsiasi tipo di emergenza, ma la natura è imprevedibile e noi possiamo opporre delle contromisure nel momento in cui siamo certi di cosa andremo a fronteggiare. Sono previste naturalmente delle vie di fuga in caso di emergenze climatiche, ma il dissesto idrogeologico è un problema molto serio che stiamo cercando di affrontare nel migliore dei modi”.
Nel frattempo la Protezione Civile, in collaborazione con il Centro funzionale multirischi dell’Arpacal, costantemente in contatto con il Sindaco, ha emesso dei comunicati stampa diramando l’allerta ovunque, in particolare nei comuni della Calabria ionica e tirrenica meridionale, e sulla falsariga di Bagnara Calabra, anche i comuni di Reggio Calabria, Campo Calabro, San Roberto, Villa San Giovanni, Scilla, Fiumara, Calanna, Laganadi, Santo Stefano in Aspromonte e Sant’Alessio in Aspromonte hanno emesso ordinanza di chiusura dei plessi scolastici nella giornata di sabato.
