Si svolgerà giovedì 5 dicembre 2013, alle ore 17:00, presso la Sala Conferenze dell'Archivio di Stato di Reggio Calabria, la presentazione del libro “La presenza ebraica nella storia reggina” di Felice Delfino (Disoblio Edizioni). Nel corso dela presentazione, moderata da Maria Francesca Fassari (Redattrice), interverranno: Mirella Marra (Direttrice Archivio di Stato di Reggio Calabria), Eduardo Lamberti Castronovo (Assessore alla Cultura e Legalità Provincia di Reggio Calabria), Riccardo Consoli (Ricercatore Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria), Natale Zapalà (Ricercatore Università degli Studi di Messina), Salvatore Bellantone (Disoblio Edizioni). Sarà presente l'autore.
La presenza ebraica nella storia reggina ripercorre la storia del popolo ebraico nel territorio della provincia di Reggio Calabria, dalla diaspora (VIII-VI sec.) alla cacciata del 1541. Analizzando i rapporti degli ebrei con i vari dominatori (Romani, Bizantini, Normani, Svevi, Angioini, Aragonesi), l'opera mette a fuoco le principali tracce ebraiche antiche rimaste in terra reggina e le principali località reggine in cui le comunità ebraiche hanno trovato dimora. Evidenziando le influenze ebraiche nell'onomastica e nella lingua locale, l'opera traccia poi un excursus delle condizioni economiche della società calabrese dall'età tardo-antica al periodo borbonico, ricalcando l'incisività delle comunità ebraiche sull'economia calabrese, per mezzo delle arti, dei mestieri e delle attività nelle quali gli ebrei si sono dimostrati dei maestri.
Felice Francesco Delfino è nato nel 1979 a Oppido Mamertina (RC). Nel 2009 ha conseguito il Magistero presso l'Istituto Superiore di Scienze Religiose “Mons. Zoccali” di Reggio Calabria e per due anni ha insegnato religione e cultura storico-sociale presso la Do.Mi. di Villa San Giovanni. Da anni collabora con alcune riviste di storia locale, religiosa ed ebraica, per le quali pubblica alcuni articoli e saggi. Attualmente vive a Catona (RC).
